Begin juli vertegenwoordigde Th\u00e9o FORESTIER (IMT Nord Europe) het ALCOVE-project op NANOTEXNOLOGY 2026, een van de belangrijkste Europese evenementen op het gebied van nanotechnologie, organische elektronica en nanogeneeskunde, georganiseerd in Thessaloniki (Griekenland).In dit kader presenteerde Th\u00e9o zijn doctoraatsonderzoek via een poster met de titel: “Polyaniline-based Gas Sensors for Ammonia Detection in Human Breath: Influence of Solvent on Sensor Performance”Een mooie erkenning voor dit werk volgde met de toekenning van een Young Researcher Award, uitgereikt tijdens de internationale zomerschool #ISSON26.Binnen het ALCOVE-project dragen de teams van IMT Nord Europe bij aan de ontwikkeling en verbetering van de sensoren die deel uitmaken van de elektronische neus. Het doel is hun gevoeligheid, selectiviteit en vermogen om relevante verbindingen in uitgeademde lucht te detecteren verder te verbeteren. De door Th\u00e9o gepresenteerde werkzaamheden onderzoeken onder meer duurzamere benaderingen voor de ontwikkeling van op polyaniline gebaseerde sensoren, door traditioneel gebruikte toxische oplosmiddelen te vervangen door alternatieven met een lagere toxiciteit, terwijl tegelijkertijd de prestaties van de sensor onder omstandigheden die vergelijkbaar zijn met menselijke adem worden verbeterd.Naast de presentatie van zijn resultaten bood dit evenement ook een uitstekende gelegenheid om idee\u00ebn uit te wisselen met de internationale gemeenschap van onderzoekers op het gebied van nanotechnologie, sensoren en innovatieve materialen, rond gemeenschappelijke wetenschappelijke uitdagingen.Proficiat aan Th\u00e9o Forestier voor deze onderscheiding en aan alle teams van IMT Nord Europe voor hun bijdrage aan de ontwikkeling van technologie\u00ebn die morgen kunnen bijdragen aan een betere vroegtijdige opsporing van longkanker.<\/p>\n\n
