Looking back at the ALCOVE Steering Committee – Arlon, May 29, 2026

·

Last week, the partners of the ALCOVE project met in Arlon, hosted by our partner, the University of Liège.

This Steering Committee provided an opportunity to introduce a slightly different format, with a dedicated focus on clinical research.

the richness and diversity of the consortium : clinicians, engineers, researchers — can sometimes lead to differences in understanding, which are entirely natural given each discipline and area of expertise.

In this context, the presentation delivered by Eric Wasielewski (Lille University Hospital) was particularly valuable.

À travers une approche à la fois historique, réglementaire et pragmatique, elle a permis de :

  • share common foundations in clinical research

As a reminder, the University of Liège plays a central role in the ALCOVE project, being responsible for the design of the electronic nose device and its replication for clinical trials.

A concrete moment that helps connect technology with real-world applications and provides a clearer understanding of the project’s challenges.

These moments of exchange are essential in a project like ALCOVE:

they strengthen mutual understanding, facilitate collaboration, and enable everyone to fully grasp the challenges, beyond disciplinary boundaries.

Thank you to all partners for their commitment, and especially to Eric for this structuring presentation, as well as to the University of Liège team for their warm welcome and this inspiring visit.
