A leading international event
The ALCOVE project will be represented at the Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO 2026), a major international scientific event dedicated to artificial intelligence and optimization methods inspired by natural processes.
GECCO brings together researchers from around the world to share the latest advances in machine learning, optimization, and data exploration.
A scientific contribution from the University of Lille
In this context, Adel Mokadem (University of Lille) will deliver an oral presentation following the acceptance of his scientific paper.
His work focuses on the development and evaluation of optimization methods known as metaheuristics, which are used to explore and analyze complex datasets.
More specifically, this contribution investigates different strategies for decomposing complex problems into sub-problems, in order to improve data exploration and model performance. The experiments were conducted using datasets from the scientific literature, ahead of the analysis of ALCOVE clinical data.
Research aligned with ALCOVE objectives
Although this work is currently based on generic data, it is fully aligned with the methodological challenges of the ALCOVE project.
These approaches will ultimately contribute to:
- improving the analysis of complex datasets,
- enhancing machine learning model performance,
- and supporting the identification of signatures associated with lung cancer based on exhaled air analysis.
International visibility for the project
Adel Mokadem’s participation in GECCO 2026 represents an important opportunity to:
- showcase ALCOVE’s scientific contributions,
- strengthen links with the international AI research community,
- and position the project within global discussions on innovative data analysis in healthcare.
